Ethyl Ferulate, a Component with Anti-Inflammatory
Ethyl Ferulate (FAEE), which has many health benefits, is widely used in creams to provide high sun protection. We compared FAEE to its precursor, Ferulic acid (FA) as free radical scavengers, inhibitors oxidants from leukocytes and the changes in the rheological property when FAEE is incorporated into emulsion-based creams. FA had a lower cell-free antiradical ability than FA. FAEE was however more effective in reducing reactive oxygen species from activated leukocytes.
The formulations were more elastic than viscous in frequency sweep and stress tests. The creep and recovery assay confirmed the viscoelastic characteristics of the formulations and revealed that FAEE was less susceptible to deformation. Liberation experiments revealed that FAEE was released at a slower rate than FA. FAEE is less effective than FA in preventing oxidative damage caused by oxidants produced by leukocytes. The rheological changes caused by FAEE's addition are indicative of lower readability. This could be beneficial for formulations that are used in small areas of the skin.

Ethyl Ferulate (4-hydroxy-3-methoxy cinnamic acid, FA) is a naturally occurring plant product that has long been studied due to its potential beneficial health properties, including anti-oxidative anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and ant proliferative activities. FA's effectiveness as an antioxidant compound is linked to the stability of the phenyl radical. This is due to the charge delocalization of the aromatic ring with the double bond in the side chain.
Ethyl Ferulate is an ester of ferulic acids naturally occurring in plant products. It has strong UV absorption and free radical scavenging properties, as well as antioxidant properties. It is widely used in cosmetic products, including aqueous, cream-based, and ethanolic creams.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION & NATURAL SOURCE
Ethyl Ferulate and Ferulic Acid is a therapeutic agent that can be used to treat many diseases, including diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. EF is an effective natural antioxidant. Recently, scientific and public demand for it has increased due to the potential adverse health effects of synthetic antioxidants.
You can also obtain it from plant cell walls using alkaline chemicals or biotechnological treatments, but further research is required to make this economically viable.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PLICATIONS - USES
Antioxidant Agent
Intestinal ischemia refers to a condition that results in a reduction or absence of arterial blood flow due to a severe or persistent blockage of the vestibular veins and arteries. EF treatment prevents the increase of vascular permeability caused by intestinal ischemia-reperfusion. It may also be used in active foods to enhance protective compounds' effects.
Hepatoprotective agent
The liver is responsible for detoxification and elimination. Hepatotoxins, alcohol, and heavy metals can also cause liver damage. EF protects against the intake of excess toxins and has no side effects. It can therefore be considered as a potential molecule to treat liver damage.
Anti-diabetic agent
Diabetes, a metabolic disease, increases oxidative stress. It plays a major role in many diseases. Studies in vivo have shown that EF can neutralize free radicals within the pancreas.
UV protection agent
In vitro studies have shown the effectiveness of EF to treat skin damage from ultraviolet rays. The researchers also found that EF is not affected in the formation of pH creams. EF can also help to prevent the image from aging by being used in the formulation of a moisturizer/lotion.
CONCLUSION
Ethyl Ferulate has been proven to be an effective antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-diabetic compound. It is known for its many pharmaceutical properties. It has been shown to have positive effects on HMG-CoA reductase and antioxidant genes. Additional properties are possible that need further investigation.
It can be used as both an active food and as a replacement for synthetic drugs. It can also be used to treat human diseases. It can be found in plants. It is anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory. It's naturally found in rice and protected from the sun's ultraviolet rays.
